Refrigerant Gas Supplier in Oman: R410A, R32, R22, R134a, R407C and R404A

Choosing the right gas matters as much as choosing the right part. As a refrigerant gas supplier in Oman, we supply R410A, R32, R22, R407C, R134a, R404A and other refrigerants for air conditioners, chillers and cold rooms, together with the filter driers, oils, gauges and fittings that go with them. Tell us the gas printed on the unit's nameplate and the cylinder size you need, and we confirm availability, price and delivery in your quotation.

Which refrigerant gas does your unit use?

The nameplate on the outdoor unit or compressor states the refrigerant. The table shows where each gas is commonly found.

GasTypical useThings to know
R410ANewer split, packaged and VRF air conditionersWorks at higher pressure than R22; needs equipment rated for it.
R32Newer split unitsMildly flammable; handle according to the manufacturer's instructions.
R22Older split, window and packaged unitsAn ozone-depleting HCFC that is being phased out, so supply is shrinking.
R407CSome packaged units and chillers, and some R22 replacementsA blend whose composition changes if it leaks as vapour; charge it as a liquid.
R134aChillers, refrigeration and vehicle air conditioningCommon in medium-temperature applications.
R404ALow-temperature refrigeration and cold roomsUsed in freezers and display cabinets.

R22 and the phase-out

R22 is a hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC), and Oman is implementing an HCFC phase-out under the Montreal Protocol, with licensing and quotas on imports. In practice, R22 supply is shrinking and older units are increasingly replaced or converted. A unit that was designed for R22 cannot simply be filled with R410A, because the pressure, oil and components differ. Ask a qualified technician before changing the gas in any system.

Safe handling: what the technician should do

  • Find the leak before topping up. A low charge is usually the symptom of a leak, not the cause.
  • Recover, never vent. Old refrigerant should be recovered with the right equipment.
  • Use the right gas, oil and tools. Never mix refrigerants, and use gauges and hoses rated for the gas.
  • Evacuate and test. A vacuum pump and a leak test are part of a proper repair.
  • Respect flammability. R32 and R290 need extra care; follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Charging, leak repair and retrofits should be done by qualified technicians. We supply the gas and the accessories, not the labour.

Everything that goes with the gas

Our catalogue lists refrigerant gas and oils, filter driers and accessories, pressure controls and gauges, copper pipes and fittings, expansion and solenoid valves and HVAC tools, so one request can cover a whole repair.

Frequently asked questions

All questions
Which refrigerant gas does my air conditioner use?
Look at the nameplate on the outdoor unit or the compressor. Newer split and packaged units mostly use R410A or R32, older units may use R22, and refrigeration equipment often uses R134a, R404A or R407C. Send us a photo if you are not sure.
Can I replace R22 with R410A?
Not as a simple top-up. R410A works at different pressures and with different oil, so a system designed for R22 needs a qualified technician to assess whether a conversion is possible.
Who should charge the gas?
A qualified refrigeration or AC technician. Charging involves pressure, vacuum, leak testing and recovery of old gas, and some gases are flammable.
Why does my AC lose gas?
Because of a leak, in the pipework, joints or coils. Topping up without repairing the leak only delays the next failure.
Do you supply gas by the cylinder for contractors?
Yes. Tell us the gas, cylinder size and quantity, and we confirm availability and delivery. For regular volumes, ask for trade pricing.
